An inbox you can stay on top of
An email assistant that flags what needs a decision, summarises threads and prepares replies for you to check.
Start with: One inbox. Nothing sends or deletes without your approval.
Build and launch a useful automation or custom tool in 60–90 days, with an experienced engineer guiding you.
No software engineering background required. You know your business. I’ll help you use AI to build around the way it works.
For business owners who want to build it themselves, with expert help.
You’re chasing emails, copying numbers into spreadsheets and checking three different tools to find out where a client stands.
More customers should be good news. Instead, every new one adds another set of manual jobs. And another subscription still doesn’t quite solve the problem.
You can see how it should work. You need a way to make it happen.
AI has made it possible to build tools and apps around your business. AI coding tools help you write and change software. Automation tools connect the apps you already use. You can turn an idea into something you can see and try.
But a convincing demo isn’t yet a product you can put in front of your customers. Their data needs to be protected. The workflow needs to hold up when something goes wrong. And you need to know how to test it, launch it and keep it running.
That takes engineering experience, not just another prompt. I’ll help you make those decisions and work through the problems, drawing on 20 years of building and operating software. You stay involved in the build and learn how to look after the result.
You don’t need to become a software engineer before you start. You need a sensible plan and an experienced one alongside you.
Your first project doesn’t have to be an app. A focused automation can be the right place to start. Here are examples we could scope together.
An email assistant that flags what needs a decision, summarises threads and prepares replies for you to check.
Start with: One inbox. Nothing sends or deletes without your approval.
Keep enquiries, client notes and next actions together, organised around the way you actually sell and deliver.
Start with: One pipeline, with clear stages and follow-ups.
A dashboard that brings the metrics you use to make decisions into one clear view.
Start with: One reliable data source and a few important metrics.
Turn your recordings, transcripts or notes into draft posts, newsletters or carousel copy, ready to edit.
Start with: One content workflow, with approval before publishing.
Organise prospect research or track changes to competitors’ public pages. Keep the sources so you can check the findings.
Start with: One customer profile or a small set of public pages. No automatic outreach.
A branded portal for onboarding, progress and resources, or a focused platform around your existing coaching program.
Start with: One service or adult program. Reuse existing video and meeting tools.
These are possible first projects, not client results or promises to build an entire platform. We choose the scope around your business, time and data.
This is a guided project, not a library of tutorials or a development agency. We work towards one useful first release over a 90-day engagement.
We work through the job you want to improve, choose a sensible first version and make a plan for building it. If an existing tool solves the problem well, we’ll say so.
You leave with: a clear scope, first-release features, milestones and a definition of finished.
Days 1–14
Set up the AI and automation tools you need. Test a small version of the workflow before connecting it to everyday business use.
The result: A scoped plan and a test automation or prototype.
Days 15–60
Build the core workflow, connect the data it needs and test realistic examples. Secure your app, protect API keys and check who can access each customer’s data before a controlled trial.
The result: A working first version, tested against the job it must do.
Days 61–90, or earlier when ready
Deploy your app and connect a custom domain. Work through day-to-day operations, error monitoring, backups and restoring data. Add payments if your project needs them, then learn to make and release an improvement yourself.
The result: A tool in use and a repeatable way to maintain and improve it.
We cover what your project needs. An email automation may not need a domain or payments. These are planning windows, not waiting periods. A simple automation may be useful much sooner. Launch timing depends on the scope we agree and the time you put into building.
You don’t need to know whether it’s a bug, a bad instruction or the wrong approach. We’ll work through what happened and decide what to do next.
Bring your current build and questions. We use your actual work to explain the decisions, investigate problems and keep the project moving.
Share what you tried and where it broke through the agreed async channel. Get help with the next step without having to figure it all out alone.
We review scope, design, testing and launch readiness. If a feature is too big or too risky, we simplify it before it consumes the whole project.
You build between sessions. I guide, review and help you get unstuck. I’m not taking the project away and developing it for you. The live format, availability and response terms will be agreed before you pay. This is not unlimited development or emergency production support.
The goal is to finish with something working in your business, and enough understanding to look after it.
A focused tool or automation doing the work we agreed. We check what it improves, including the time you still spend reviewing outputs and maintaining it.
Know where your data lives, who can access it and what the tool costs to run. Learn how to check for errors, restore a backup and recover when something breaks. Keep the project in accounts you control.
Make, test and release an improvement yourself. Then use the same process to decide what to build next, and when you need specialist help.
You run a business, consultancy, service or education company. You know the work well, and you want tools that fit it.
Want to go deeper on software engineering and production AI systems? AI Engineer is for that. Want someone to take responsibility for building and managing the system? That’s Gradientwork.

I’m Owain. I’ve spent 20 years building software, launched multiple SaaS products and owned and operated cloud systems used by millions of people.
I’ve worked with thousands of engineers from companies including Google, Amazon, Oracle, Microsoft and Netflix. Today I teach AI coding to an audience of over 70,000 people and build systems for clients through Gradientwork.
I also use AI to build tools for my own work, from a carousel generator for content production to an assistant that helps me stay on top of email.
I know what it’s like to run the business and build the software. Build Together brings those two parts of my experience to your project.

90 days of guided building with Owain
$1,500 × 3 monthly payments

Final format, start dates and terms will be confirmed before you pay. AI subscriptions, API usage and hosting are separate costs. Joining the waitlist does not reserve a place or guarantee acceptance.
You do not need a software engineering background. You do need to be comfortable learning tools, working through problems and checking results. AI coding tools help you write and change software; automation tools connect existing apps. Owain helps you choose the right approach and understand what you are building. This is not a promise that every project can be built without technical help.
Start with a recurring job in your business, not an app idea. We might look at how you handle email, prepare reports, research leads, produce content or onboard clients. Your private planning session turns a useful problem into a focused first project. Sometimes an existing tool or a small automation is the best answer.
We can investigate bugs, work through technical decisions and fix problems together. But you remain responsible for implementing the project between sessions. Owain does not take the build away and deliver it as an agency would. If you want the system built and managed for you, Gradientwork is the separate done-for-you service.
Hiring a developer can be the right choice if you want delivery without doing the work. Build Together is for owners who also want to learn how their tool works, maintain it and make changes themselves. You are paying for project-specific engineering guidance and support while developing that capability.
You can share your work and questions through the agreed async support channel. Bring the context, what you tried and what went wrong. The live format, availability, response times and submission limits will be confirmed before you pay. This is not instant, unlimited or emergency production support.
You need protected time to build between support sessions. We assess the demands of your project and your available time before you join. If you want to hand over the work completely, or cannot make regular time for it, this is not the right format.
No. We agree a realistic first-release scope and target launch within 60–90 days during a 90-day engagement. The timing depends on scope, dependencies and your participation. A simple automation may be useful much sooner. If progress slips, we review the blockers and adjust the plan. Any work beyond the engagement would need to be agreed separately; the final terms will be clear before payment.
We start with one focused workflow, not every system in your business. A dashboard, email automation or single-service client portal can be a sensible first release. Large migrations, complex platforms, native mobile apps and high-risk uses of sensitive data need separate assessment and may not fit this engagement.
The proposed founding price is $4,500 USD total, paid in three monthly payments of $1,500. It is one engagement, not an ongoing monthly membership. Your AI tools, API usage and hosting are separate costs. You keep the project in accounts you control and learn how to maintain it. Ongoing development or managed hosting is not included. Final scope and commercial terms will be agreed before payment.
Complete the short waitlist form with your name, email and what you would like to build or automate. You will hear when the offer opens and can discuss project fit. Joining does not reserve a place, guarantee acceptance or commit you to pay. Support format, availability, start dates and cancellation terms will be clear before you decide.
